Jenny Dean Schmidt

 

 

Jennny Dean Schmidt is a former Emmy Award winning television
reporter. Jenny had an extensive career in TV news where she worked
as an on-air reporter, host, producer, and writer for media entities
including ABC News, PBS, and FNN (now CNBC) as well as NBC, ABC, CBS,
and WB affiliates in major U.S. cities.

Jenny chose to leave her TV career to commit to raising her own children at home. She believes the motherhood role is often overshadowed by popular culture values that glorify celebrities and the celebrity lifestyle. She is currently Executive Director of ChannelMom Media and Outreach and has hosted ChannelMom Radio and Podcast for 11 years. ChannelMom reaches tens of thousands of moms each month through its Salem Radio Network syndicated radio show, podcast, social media, and YouTube channel.

As Founder of ChannelMom, Jenny is a champion for moms from all walks of life. In 2019, she launched a creative program for moms in prison, offering them classes on inner healing and positive parenting principles to help incarcerated moms re-engage their children. The aim of the program is to stop the legacy of incarceration from being passed from mother to child.

She also founded a successful homeless outreach, providing mentors to assist single moms and their children transitioning out of homelessness. Jenny also led ChannelMom to establish a program that provides resources to single moms and is currently working on a unique partnership to offer support to moms of children with disabilities.

Jenny’s mission is to encourage moms everywhere, helping them see
their mothering role as invaluable to our world and priceless in the eyes
of God.
